The member history of Gesshoku isn't entirely clear. Especially the position of their drummer is uncertain. It appears as though the band had either more than one drummer (Shū and a yet-to-be-named person) or Shū left and later rejoined the band. This is the band's most well-known line-up, it can be found on one demo tape, the live VHS and the omnibus CD:

Much like Gesshoku's member history, the order of their releases is almost entirely unknown. What can be said for certain is that the VHS was filmed earlier than October 23, 1993, since Yoma announced the October 23 live during the live that was filmed for the VHS. Furthermore, it's impossible to say if these releases are all real, or if some were bootlegged.

月蝕 (Gesshoku) was Kyo's first band. They formed in August 1993 and disbanded on April 11, 1994, after an activity period of only nine months. The band name means "Lunar Eclipse" and was often used together with the tagline "schwarz weiß" (German for "black white").

Member History

LAYLLA, Tokuko, Yoma and Shū

The member history of Gesshoku isn't entirely clear. It seems that except for the vocalist, all positions changed once. However, guitarist Shuji and drummer Shura haven't been mentioned in any published material and are only known from conversations with Seine (ex-Viṣṇu / Masquerade).

  • Vocals – 殀磨 (Yoma)
    • This name was mistakenly written as 妖磨 (Yoma) on the band's VHS. On the internet, it can also be found written as 殆磨 (Hotoma), likely based on a misreading of the correct kanji.
  • Guitar – LAYLLA → Shuji
    • According to Seine, LAYLLA was replaced by Shuji at some point. As Shuji isn't mentioned anywhere, the exact details are unclear.
  • Bass – 忒己 (Tokuko) → 麗 (Rei)
    • Tokuko changed his name from kanji to romaji at some point. He seceded on March 20, 1994, and was replaced by Rei for the band's last live.
  • Drums – 愁 (Shū) → Shura
    • Shū left the band in late 1993, likely shortly before or after December 26. The band used a support drummer until their disbandment. Based on a photo of Viṣṇu from June 1994, this drummer might have been Shura.
