An SE ("sound effect") is a short instrumental track that is usually played as an intro before the start of a concert. Dir En Grey have made use of SEs since the very beginning of their career. They can be found on almost all setlists and change from time to time. Sometimes, officially released songs are used as SEs, such as G.D.S. However, the SEs have no known titles most of the time. A list can be found below.

Deity	Used in 2000 and 2001. Combined use as an SE and a song.
「神葬」 「深葬」	Used together in 2002. 「神葬」was used again in 2010.
G.D.S.	Mostly used in 2002 and 2003, as well as 2005 and 2006.
君が代 (Kimi ga yo)	A version of the Japanese anthem, made by Kaoru, was used in 2005 and again in 2010 (and possibly other years).
SA BIR	Mostly used from 2007 to 2011. The long version was used on May 26, 2010, January 22, 2012 and February 6, 2016.
狂骨の鳴り	Mostly used from 2011 to 2014. A longer version titled 狂骨の鳴り(03:10ver) was used for DUM SPIRO SPERO AT NIPPON BUDOKAN.
AMON (Symphonic Ver.)	Used in 2011.
and Zero	Used in 2013, titled "NEW SE". A longer version was used from 2014 to 2015.
鱗 (Crossover Ver.)	Used in 2016.
SE	Used during "TOUR16-17 FROM DEPRESSION TO ________ [mode of THE MARROW OF A BONE]".

INCONVENIENT IDEAL SE	Combination of a choir intro and the first verse of the unplugged version of INCONVENIENT IDEAL. Used once in 2012, and since 2017 before INCONVENIENT IDEAL.
SE	Used during the "The World You Live In" live in March 2020. First SE included on a release's tracklist.
