京 (Kyo) first began to venture outside of the musical boundaries of Dir En Grey in March 2000, when he formed TWO MONSTROUS NUCLEAR STOCKPILES as a one-off project. Although he had Kaoru help him, this could be considered his first work as a solo artist. Just a year later, Kyo began publishing music under his own name, releasing the poem book 自虐、斂葬腐乱シネマ, accompanied by the four-track EP 第三帝國楽団. A second poem book and one-track CD, 前略、お元気ですか、最果ての地より名も無き君に愛をこめて… and 腐乱シネマ帝國楽団, respectively, were released in 2004.
These two CDs are so far the only ones under his own name, but he did release a couple of poem books later and formed the supergroup sukekiyo in 2013.
