The Crystal Video Box version was released on 15 December 1997 via mail order and on 15 January 1998 in stores. It was limited to 10,000 copies and included extras such as a message CD that you can listen to [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCnDjiU0UUQ here]. The normal version was released on 8 July 1998.
Along with the four-track VHS, both Crystal Video Box versions came with a 30 pages-long crystal photobook, a message CD that you can listen to [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCnDjiU0UUQ here], an A2 poster and two clear stickers. The photobook has different photos depending on the version, the mail-order version additionally came with a clear postcard as a bonus. The "VHS specifications" are also said to be a little different, although it's not entirely clear what this means. However, it appears that the music videos are slightly different depending on the version.

There were also two promotional VHS released. The first one, 「楓」~if trans・・・~ TOUR1998 Mechanism For Leave -the scene of the tragedy-, was released from 31 February 1998, the start of the tour with the same name, to the last day of the ''SHOCK WAVE'98 vol.1'' ~春の嵐~ tour on 5 April 1998 and included the PV for [[業]]. It was only available for those who pre-ordered a ticket for either tour. You can watch the VHS [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5VTJVPmE-o here].
GARDEN and Ash are re-recordings, while 惨劇の夜 is an alternate version. The reason for re-recording GARDEN and Ash were contractual restrictions that prevented the band from using the original versions off of ''MISSA'' and ''Behind the Mask vol.2 1997 -SOL'FINSTERRE-'', respectively. As such, none of the four songs on this release can be found on any other Dir En Grey release, they're also unique in that they only exist in video form. 業 was released as an official ringtone for mobile phones in 2008, but can't be accessed any longer.

The second promotional version, called 「楓」~if trans・・・~ Mechanism For Leave -Unknown・・・Despair・・・a Lost・・・- ~裁きの血舞台~, included the PV for [[Unknown・・・Despair・・・a Lost]] and was released on 5 May 1998 during the first and only day of a tour with the same name. Unlike the first promotional version, this one came with a cover and the song's lyrics on the back.

「楓」~if trans ("Kaede"~if trans~) is Dir En Grey's first VHS. It was released in a so-called Crystal Video Box with additional content, as well as a regular version with just the VHS. The Crystal Video Box version was sold in two ways: Via mail-order on December 15, 1997, limited to 8,000 copies and via in-store sale on January 15, 1998, limited to 2,000 copies. The regular version was released on July 8, 1998.

Along with the four-track VHS, both Crystal Video Box versions came with a 30 pages-long crystal photobook, a message CD that you can listen to here, an A2 poster and two clear stickers. The photobook has different photos depending on the version, the mail-order version additionally came with a clear postcard as a bonus. The "VHS specifications" are also said to be a little different, although it's not entirely clear what this means. However, it appears that the music videos are slightly different depending on the version.

GARDEN and Ash are re-recordings, while 惨劇の夜 is an alternate version. The reason for re-recording GARDEN and Ash were contractual restrictions that prevented the band from using the original versions off of MISSA and Behind the Mask vol.2 1997 -SOL'FINSTERRE-, respectively. As such, none of the four songs on this release can be found on any other Dir En Grey release, they're also unique in that they only exist in video form. 業 was released as an official ringtone for mobile phones in 2008, but can't be accessed any longer.
