街を歩いていると一人の女の子が、 僕の視界に入り僕を見つめてました。 気付いてみると僕は声をかけていま した。「二人で何処かへ行こう」と ても喜びました。君はとても可愛く 何時までも遊んだけど、そのうち涙 が頬を伝いました。可愛さ余った君 に憎さが溢れ出しました。僕は君の 首に手を回し力をこめました。ぐっ たりとした君を何度も何度もこの手 で殴りました。君のお花畑で僕は種 を蒔いたけれど、紅く塗れた蕾は咲 く事はありません。僕は自分の胸を 切り刻み血を流した。血で君の血を 洗い、涙を流しました。それから僕は、 君を冷蔵庫に入れて、そのまま地中 へと深く沈めました。悪いのは君だ と何度も心に言い聞かせ、僕には愛 など必要ありません。償い切れぬ罪 から逃れられない事実が、僕を死へ と招き入れ白いロープで死にました。 紅く染められた悲劇は、一つも変わ る事はなく惨劇の夜は今も何処かで 幕を開けました。	Machi o aruite iru to hitori no onnanoko ga, boku no shikai ni hairi boku o mitsumete imashita. I sprout my seeds into your garden, But the red, wet bud shall not bloom. I cut up my arm and bled. Washing your blood with blood, I shed a tear. Afterwards, I put you inside a refrigerator, And buried you just like that under the ground. Telling myself many times how it was your fault. I do not need such thing as love. The fact of being unable to escape guilt that cannot be atoned, Has led me to death and I died with a white rope. The tragedy dyed in crimson did not have one thing that changed And the night of tragedy continues to open its curtain somewhere even now.
These lyrics don't have an official translation. The source of the fan-translation is currently unknown.

Trivia

• One day before Dir En Grey began to record their debut EP MISSA (1997), Kyo was told to change the lyrics of 惨劇の夜, likely because of the brutal imagery. The band even considered to leave out the entire song, but decided that since it was the first song the people would hear, it was too important to be excluded. Thus, it received new lyrics and was renamed to 霧と繭. The original version was later released on 「楓」～if trans…～ (1997), along with 業, a similar case.

• According to the Japanese wikipedia, the working title of this song was "Tragedy Night".

Lyrics

• Not included at the beginning and the end of the booklet's lyrics are the words 落ちてゆけ (Ochite yuke), which means "fall down".

Variants

• On June 14 and 27, 1997, Kyo performed a spoken word version of 惨劇の夜 that was called 語り (Katari) in the live report.
